A powerful earthquake struck near Los Angeles, California, on Monday afternoon, shaking homes and startling residents for miles around. The quake was centered near the Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park, about 65 miles (105 kilometers) northeast of LA's City Hall.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.6 and occurred at a depth of 5.1 miles (8.2 kilometers). The quake was felt across a wide area, including Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire.

Minor Damage and No Injuries Reported

There were no reports of major damage or injuries in the aftermath of the earthquake. However, some residents reported minor damage to their homes, such as broken windows and fallen objects.
