Jail-Based Behavioral Health Services
JBBS Program Overview
The Jail-Based Behavioral Health Services (JBBS) program provides screening, assessment, and treatment for inmates incarcerated at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
The program is supported by county sheriffs and funded through state legislation, rather than grants.
The Criminal Justice Services Team within the Behavioral Health Administration BHA Division of the El Paso County Sheriffs Office Detention Bureau operates the JBBS program.
The goal of the program is to provide inmates with access to mental health services within the detention facility, contributing to a safe and supportive environment.
